Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs are easily installed, but there are a number of things that you should expect prior to the arrival of your new relaxation station. Here are some things a reputable hot tub dealer will help you figure out before your spa arrives:

DOES YOUR CITY OR COUNTY HAVE ANY REQUIREMENTS, LIKE A GATE, FENCE, OR STEPS THAT YOU NEED WHEN YOU HAVE A HOT TUB ON YOUR PROPERTY?

Some cities have municipal codes in place to protect children, such as obligating owners to install gates, fencing, or other such barriers to deny access to unsupervised children. Your local Jacuzzi® Hot Tub dealer will have that information ready for you and help guide you through the installation process.

HOW MUCH ROOM DO INSTALLERS NEED TO GET YOUR HOT TUB INTO YOUR YARD?

Installation of your new hot tub requires a completely unobstructed route to ensure that the unit does not incur any damage along the way. Double check all gates and entranceways to ensure sufficient clearance. Determine ahead of time the route that the installer should take when your Jacuzzi® Hot Tub arrives. Keep an eye out for objects that might hinder the delivery team in any way, and remove those obstacles in advance of the installer’s arrival. Also inspect your yard for any overhanging branches, rain gutters, or protruding electrical meters that might impede the installation process. Are there more than 6 consecutive stairs without a landing in your delivery route? If so, you must consult your Jacuzzi dealer prior to delivery to make adequate preparations.

INDOOR OR OUTDOOR? ON A DECK OR ON THE GROUND? GRASS OR GRAVEL UNDERNEATH? DOES THE LOCATION YOU’VE CHOSEN MAKE SENSE?

Due to the heft of the hot tub, water, and happy bathers inside, it’s of the utmost import that the foundation upon which your unit sits is completely level and capable of equally distributing the weight that rests upon it. Your hot tub dealer will help you decide which type of foundation is best for you.

WHAT ARE THE ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS?

Jacuzzi® Hot Tubs that are installed in the United States must meet the wiring specifications established by the National Electric Code (NEC) as well as any other state or local codes. Any circuitry must be installed by a professional electrician and receive approval an appropriate inspection official.
