Green Water

If the dreaded green water has invaded your spa, don’t fret. Algae thrives in water that has a high pH or a low level of sanitizer. Adjust the pH levels in your hot tub by using Jacuzzi® pH Up or Jacuzzi® PH/Alkalinity down. Then add Jacuzzi® Spa Chlorinating Granules or Jacuzzi® Brominating Tablets as necessary. Your water will be crystal clear and ready to use in no time.

*pH Levels should be in desired range before you raise your chlorine

What you’ll need

  • Test Strips

  • Jacuzzi® Spa chlorinating granules

  • Measuring spoon with tsp measurements

  • Turn on pump

  • Submerge the test strip six inches below the water line

  • Check your chlorine water results

  • The chlorine desire range is between 1 and 3 ppm

  • If your chlorine levels are over 3.0, we recommend you drain and refill

  • To raise your chlorine, utilize Jacuzzi spa chlorinating granules 2 tbp per 400 gallons

  • Super chlorination is 4 tsp per 400 gallons of water

  • Allow the water to circulate for 20 minutes

  • Retest and repeat the previous steps if needed
